People should. The key foundation for a government is to let its citizens have a choice on what they want/do not want to do. If this power is taken away from the citizens, then the government becomes more of a monarchy rather than a democracy.
All three of these branches deals with different parts of the government, also known as a separation of powers. They were created so that one branch would not become to powerful and become an ultimate ruler.
