Answer: Despite having a crush on the hunter, she is still frightened of the gun because she sees the gun as a threat to nature and her beliefs.

Explanation: In "A White Heron" by Sarah Orne Jewett, there is plenty of symbolism and imagery involved. Not only is Sylvia a nature lover, she lives with very little human interaction, making the gun symbolize harm against nature and her innocence. The hunter and Sylvia's nature contrasts each other immensely (maturity and innocence, urbanization and the natural world) and she is faced with the choice of betraying herself for her first crush.

Nonessential phrases, unlike essential ones, are not that important in a sentence, and can thus be easily removed without changing the meaning of the sentence drastically. They are always set off from the rest of the sentence by commas, whereas essential phrases don't have commas around them. Here, the nonessential phrase is cradling the baseball in his mitt.

How you can use base ten blocks to find 2.16➗3.
Vinvika [58]
move the decimal 2 spaces to the right. 2.16-->216 You need 21 ten rods and 6 cubes...... I wouldn't do 2 hundred flats because 2 isn't divisible by 3. Put the ten rods into 3 equal group, then do the same with the cubes. You should end up with 7 in each group since 21 divided by 3 is 7. You should also end up with 2 cubes in each group. So in one group you have 72. Now move the decimal back to where it came from, 2 spaces to the left. Now you have 0.72.
