if you don't listen, you can get something wrong. you could make someone sick if you mess up bad enough from your lack of listening. this could cause a lawsuit for the company you work for, since any company cannot take that risk you would be fired for incompetence. Just listen and none of that would ever happen.

You’ve borrowed $23,072 on margin to buy shares in Ixnay, which is now selling at $41.2 per share. You invest 1,120 shares. Your
BlackZzzverrR [31]

Answer:

(a) Since the percentage margin is more than maintenance margin, there would be no call

(b) A margin call would be received when the price is $15.26

Explanation:

(a) Total investment = $23,072 × \frac{100}{50} = $46,144

Total shares = Total investment ÷ share price

= $46,144 ÷ $41.2 = 1,120

Value of share in market = new price × number of shares

= $41 × 1,120

= $45,920

Value of equity = Value of share in the market - borrowed cash

= $45,920 - $23,072

= $22,848

Percentage margin = Value of equity ÷ Value of shares

= ($22,848 ÷ $45,920) × 100%

= 49.76%

(b) Total number of shares = 1,120

Assumed value of shares = $1,120X

Borrowed fund = $23,072

Value of equity = $1,120X - $23,072

Margin = Value of equity ÷ Value of shares

0.35 = ($1,120X - $23,072) ÷ $1,120X

392X = $1,120X - $23,072

1512X = $23,072

X = $15.26

Which type of account typically has low liquidity?
il63 [147K]

Option (d) is the correct option.

Certificate of deposit has low liquidity because the money can be withdrawn after the maturity period. It cannot be converted to cash immediately.

Further Explanation:

Liquidity:

Liquidity is a measurement of an asset’s ability to convert it into cash. If any specific asset can be converted into cash quickly, then it is considered a liquid asset.

Example: Stock, Debtors, Marketable securities are liquid assets as they can be converted into cash very quickly. On the other hand, land and building are not liquid assets as they would require a longer time to convert into cash.

Low liquidity account:

Certificate of deposit is a low liquidity account.

Certificate of deposit:

Certificate of deposit is a saving account. In certificate of deposit, the customer of the bank deposits lump-sum amount in the bank account, and it can be withdrawn after a specified time. Certificate of deposit has a higher interest rate than a normal saving account. Generally, the tenure of the certificate of deposit varies from 1 year to 10 years. The customer of the bank cannot withdraw the funds before the maturity date of the deposit.

Certificate of deposit has lower liquidity because the funds cannot be withdrawn before the maturity date of the deposits. Once deposited, the funds can be converted to cash after the maturity period, which varies from 1 year to 10 years as per the agreement with the customer.

Certificate of deposit has low liquidity because the money can be withdrawn after the maturity period. It cannot be converted to cash immediately

Checking account, savings account, and money market account has high liquidity as money can be readily withdrawn from these accounts.

Bingel [31]

Answer:

Option (A) is correct.

Explanation:

On January 1st,

Total assets = Total liabilities + share holders equity

                    = 640,000 + 580,000

                    = 1,220,000

On December 31st,

Total assets = Total liabilities + share holders equity

                    = 630,000 + 620,000

                    = 1,250,000

Retained earnings closing = share holders equity increases - common stock issued

                                            = (620,000-580,000) - 10,000

                                            = 40,000 - 10,000

                                            = 30,000

Retained earnings closing = Net income - Dividend declared

30,000 = $45,000 - Dividend declared

Dividend declared = $45,000 - $30,000

                               = $15,000
