A reader might feel like they can relate to the situation that the writer is going through. They understand and therefor can relate emotionally to the situation.

For me personally, I learned my multiplication tables before I learned division.

So, the way I would solve 36 / 6 would be:

What number, multiplied by 6, equals 36.

Well, 6 x 6 = 36

So, 36 / 6 must equal 6.

That's how I would do it.
