The Phoenicia Civilization was a Mediterranean civilization that emerged in the Levant, particularly Lebanon. This civilization spread throughout the Mediterranean in the period between 1500 BC and 300 BC. The Phoenicians were known greatly for various skills such as shipbuilding and navigation skills and making purple dye etc. The Phoenicians were efficiently involved in trading activities and grew rich from trade.
The Phoenicians became famous for their blue and purple dyes which was made from murex shells. They were also famous for their trading skills and navigation abilities.
The main reason why the Emancipation Proclamation was very popular in Europe was because by then many European countries had ended the institution of slavery--making the US the last to "catch up".
