Answer:

They understood the problems were too big for volunteer organizations to address alone.

Explanation:

Jane Addams was born on September 6, 1860 and died on May 28, 1935. She was an American activist, a reformer, a social worker, sociologist, public administrator and also an author.

Jane Adams and her colleagues fought for government reforms because they knew the problem was too big for volunteer organization to fight alone.

Together with other reform groups, Addams worked towards goals that included the first juvenile court law, tenement-house regulation, an eight-hour working day for women, factory inspection, and workers' compensation. Adam was an advocate on research whose aim was to determine the causes of poverty and crime, she was a supporter of women's suffrage.

Masteriza [31]

Answer:

Examples of “gendered” interaction that I notice regarding the ways in which women and men are socialized regarding demeanor, uses of space, starting, touching, smiling, and language is discussed below in detail.

Explanation:

Society expects complex reactions and responses from sons and daughters. Gender socialization is the inclination for boys and girls to be socialized separately. Boys are suggested to correspond to the male gender performance, and girls are suggested to correspond to the female gender or performance. Gender socialization is the method by which we study our culture's gender-related practices, standards, and expectations.

The left hemisphere is dominant for language-related abilities in ______ dextrals and in _____ sinestrals.
Sever21 [200]

The left hemisphere predominates in language skills for right-handers and most neutrals (left-handers), but neutrals are more variable.

The two hemispheres are connected by a thick band of nerve fibers known as the corpus callosum, which consists of about 200 million axons. The corpus callosum allows the two hemispheres to communicate with each other, allowing information processed on one side of the brain to be shared with the other side.

Helppppppppp plzzzzz!
Phantasy [73]

Answer:

What we can infer from these sentence from the story is:

D. The volunteers planned to connect the refrigerators to a source of electricity.

Explanation:

We can choose the correct option via elimination, after reading the passage. At no point does the passage say anything that would lead us to think the cords and fridges would be used as weapons. Letter A is, thus, eliminated. It also does not mention the amount of time necessary to install all the 60 fridges. We can also eliminate letter B for that reason. Letter C is also wrong, since the lines do not provide us with information about fridges being broken. It is likely some were, but not because we can infer it from the passage.

Letter D is the only correct option. We can infer the volunteers were planning on plugging the fridges to an outlet. Why? Because they were carrying extension cords. That was the whole purpose of carrying them. Otherwise, the fridges wouldn't work. Therefore, we can safely choose letter D.

According to virginia woolf, what are the two main obstacles to women's professional identity? are these still the two main obst
pychu [463]
According to Virginia Woolf, the two main reasons for difficulty in developing a professional identity for women are the expectations of society and the expectations of self. In other words, if it is generally thought that women belonged in the home then that is a negative factor which makes it difficult for women to become a professional. On the other hand, if a woman has a low self-esteem then it will be harder for her to improve herself and obtain a professional status. I believe these two factors are still in existence today but now the expectations of women has improved somewhat to believe that they can fulfil a successful role as a professional and not just be a child-rearer ie that she can now do both with the assistance of her husband who must take on more of the household chores to give her the time and peace of mind to develop herself professionally.
