Predator-prey relationship

Explanation:

A predator prey relationship is one in which interactions usually with consequential effects occurs between two different species. One species usually feed on the other. The species being fed on are the prey while the species being fed is the predator. In this context, the prey is the ant and the predator s are the ant lions.

Answer:

The relationship between the ants and ant lions is an example of predator-prey co-evolution.

Explanation:

Co-evolution refers to cases where two (or more) species reciprocally affect each other's evolution. Co-evolution is likely to happen when different species have close ecological interactions with one another. These ecological relationships include: predator/prey and parasite/host. The  ecological  relationship between pit-digging larval ant lions and their common prey, ants, is an example of how the specific ecological niche that species inhabit imposes selection pressures leading to specific behavioral adaptations. Ant lions rely on multiple strategies to capture prey with a minimal expenditure of energy and extraordinary efficiency while ants employ several different strategies for avoiding capture, including rescue of trapped nestmates.

By changing the color of a beetle, this could cause disruption in which animals consume the beetle. A specific pattern could possibly mimic one of a poisonous beetle, thus reducing the amount of beetles eaten. This would cause a growth in population of said beetles and a possible decrease in population for animals that consume the beetles.

How has modern humans<br> ecological footprint caused a Tragedy of the Commons?
Anastasy [175]

Answer and Explanation:

The ecological footprint is an indicator of sustainability at an international level that integrates all the human impacts over the environment, considering the necessary resources and the generated residues to maintain the modern consumption model.  It refers to the productive ecological surface needed to produce resources to consume by one person and to absorb the residues that are produced.

By constant contamination and indiscriminately use of natural resources the impact generated by human in the earth is unmeasurable.

The tragedy of the commons refers to how some people, acting by their own needs or interests, may exceed the use of natural resources, affecting their population and, therefore, other users. These individuals over explode resources thinking only in the present, but not in the future.

The ecological footprint as an indicator makes visible the unsustainable lifestyle of human beings, especially those of the first world. If this lifestyle would project to the rest of the world equally, natural resources would completely disappear. More developed countries are over contaminating and over exploding natural resources, affecting other countries of the third world, and even themselves.
