y=2x+7

y=2x-7

parallel lines always have the same slope but different y intercepts. y=2x+7 and y=2x-7 is the only possible answer because it's the only one with the same slope

I have a word problem with a pattern. I just can't figure it out. - On the first night, Kim's mom gave her a nickel, on the seco
denpristay [2]
1st night Nickel - 5 pennies
2nd night 5 nickels - 25 pennies
3rd night 14 nickels - 70 pennies
4th night 30 nickels - 150 pennies
5th night 46 nickels
6th night 78 nickels
7th night 126 nickels
8th night 206 nickels
9th night 334 nickels
10th night 542 nickels

So her mother would give Kim 542 nickels on the 10th night.

Differences between number of nickels: 4, 9, 16

9 - 4 = 5
16 - 9 = 7

The pattern is Kim's mom gives her child two more nickels plus the amount of nickels she got the day before.

This was a little tricky so I don't know if this is right but I hope this helps you!

Solve. 25x + 2 = 53x - 3
Lemur [1.5K]
The answer is that x is equal to 0.17 or -5/-28. You have to add like terms so 25x+2=53x-3 will turn to -28x=-5.

The 2000 census "long form" asked the total 1999 income of the householder, the person in whose name the dwelling unit was owned
shutvik [7]

Answer:

The 99% confidence interval for the 1999 mean incomes of Middletown  householders is ($33,013.5, $33,892.5).

Step-by-step explanation:

Of the 40,000 persons, 2621 householders reported their income.

The sample size of the study is, <em>n</em> = 2621.

As the sample size is large, i.e. <em>n</em> > 30 use <em>z</em>-distribution to compute the confidence interval.

The confidence interval for mean is:

CI=\bar x\pm z_{\alpha /2}\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}}

The mean of this sample is, \bar x=\$33,453

The standard deviation is,s\approx\sigma=\$8,721

The critical value of <em>z</em> for 99% confidence level is:

z_{\alpha /2}=z_{0.01/2}=z_{0.005}=2.58

The 99% confidence interval for the 1999 mean incomes of Middletown  householders is:

CI=\bar x\pm z_{\alpha /2}\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}}\\=33453\pm2.58\times\frac{8721}{\sqrt{2621}}\\=33453\pm439.50\\=(33013.5, 33892.5)

Thus, the 99% confidence interval for the 1999 mean incomes of Middletown  householders is ($33,013.5, $33,892.5).
