Answer:

The point of Amy's choice is to highlight the many possible dangers of chatting online with strangers. She goes into how scary it is as well as what could of happened. She explains that if a young teen begins to have the situation become to much, that they shouldn't be afraid to tell their parents and receive their help. In the long run, whatever consequences given to them for chatting online will always be better than what would have happened if they stayed silent.
