Discuss the indians' revolution, comparing white freedom to indian freedom.
Travka [436]
The American Revolution as such was a real war that had its origins in the mercantile and tax prohibitions, which the British demanded from their colonies in America. The reasons why the 13 colonies became independent was because they sought to have political and economic independence, and was achieved through years of war against Britain. The revolution in India was in another sense a struggle, more as a civil and ideological movement, than war itself, because the British Empire had its military forces involved in the Second World War, and the great civil resistance of the Hindus, commanding the Gandhi, it was a political and religious struggle. While a man like Washington won by military strategies, Gandhi won by the union of the Hindu people, and the faith that all the Indians had in him. The problems after obtaining freedom were due, in large part, to the many castes and peoples with different ideas and ethnic origins in India; whereas, in America, the dominant force was of European and English origin, with ideas, religion and common goals. Gandhi was accused of dividing India with his revolution, which led to his assassination, while Thomas Jefferson and George Washington are seen by all Americans as heroes, as the 13 Colonies shared the same ideals and desires.
