Which data set could be represented by the box plot shown below? A horizontal boxplot is plotted along a horizontal axis marked

from 0 to 20, in increments of 1. A left whisker extends from 1 to 6. The box extends from 6 to 16 and is divided into 2 parts by a vertical line segment at 12. The right whisker extends from 16 to 19. All values estimated. Choose 1 answer: Choose 1 answer: (Choice A) A 1,3,6,8,10,12,13,13,16,18,201,3,6,8,10,12,13,13,16,18,201, comma, 3, comma, 6, comma, 8, comma, 10, comma, 12, comma, 13, comma, 13, comma, 16, comma, 18, comma, 20 (Choice B) B 1,3,6,8,10,12,13,13,16,18,191,3,6,8,10,12,13,13,16,18,191, comma, 3, comma, 6, comma, 8, comma, 10, comma, 12, comma, 13, comma, 13, comma, 16, comma, 18, comma, 19 (Choice C) C 1,3,6,8,10,11,13,13,18,18,191,3,6,8,10,11,13,13,18,18,191, comma, 3, comma, 6, comma, 8, comma, 10, comma, 11, comma, 13, comma, 13, comma, 18, comma, 18, comma, 19 (Choice D) D 1,3,6,8,10,11,13,13,16,18,191,3,6,8,10,11,13,13,16,18,19

Answer:

(B)1,3,6,8,10,12,13,13,16,18,19

Step-by-step explanation:

In the box plot:

A left whisker extends from 1 to 6, therefore, the least value is 1.

The box extends from 6 to 16 and is divided into 2 parts by a vertical line segment at 12. Therefore:

 • The lower quartile is 6
 • The median is 12
 • The upper quartile is 16

The right whisker extends from 16 to 19, therefore the highest value is 19.

The set of data that satisfies these conditions where the numbers in bold are the 5- number summary is:

1,3,6,8,10,12,13,13,16,18,19

The correct option is B.

Answer:

A= 15 root 5 - 10 ÷ 41

Multiply (3 root 5 - 2) top and bottom. Simplify

B= - 2

Multiply (root 3 + root 5) top and bottom. Simplify

C= 6x - 3 root xy ÷ 4x - y

or

3x - 3 root xy ÷ 2x - y

(because 6 & 4 is Divisible by 2)

Multiply (2 root x - root y) top and bottom. Simplify

Root means a square root - so, replace the word root with a square root!

Hope this helps!

Lisa brought half of her savings to the bakery and bought 12 croissants for $14.20. The amount of money she brings home with her
liraira [26]

Answer:

Before going to the bakery, Lisa had more than $32.40.

Step-by-step explanation:

Hi there!

Let x be Lisa´s savings.

She brings half of her savings to the bakery and expends $14.20. What is left is more than $2.00. Then:

x/2 - 14.2 > 2

Let´s solve the inequality:

x/2 - 14.2 > 2

Add 14.2 to both sides of the inequality.

x/2 > 2 + 14.2

x/2 > 16.2

Multiply by 2 both sides of the inequality.

x > 32.4

Before going to the bakery, Lisa had more than $32.40.

MATH PROBLEM!! CAN SOMEONE HELP 25pts You roll two number cubes at the same time. Let X be a random variable that represents the
Vesna [10]

Answers:

(a) Possible values of X are: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

(b) See attached image below; specifically figure 2

(c) No, it is not symmetric

(d) As a fraction, the answer is 1/6. In decimal form, the answer is approximately 0.1667 (converts to roughly 16.67%)

=========================================

Explanations:

(a) The largest possible roll we can get on one die is 6, the smallest is 1, so the largest possible difference is 6-1 = 5. The smallest difference is 0 as we could get doubles (eg: both dice show a "3" at the same time). We can get any difference in between 0 and 5. So X can take on whole numbers from 0 to 5, ie, X can be any number from the set {0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5}

(b) Consult the attached image. Figure 1 shows a 6 by 6 grid of values that represent all the possible ways to roll two dice. Each value in the interior of the grid is the result of subtracting the outer header values. Figure 2 is where the answer is shown for part b. The idea is that you list out the X values along the top of the table and the probability P(X) values along the bottom row. I show the work on how to compute each probability in the attachment. The probability is equal to the number of occurences over the number total. Example: X = 3 shows up 6 times out of 36, so P(X) is 6/36 = 1/6 when X = 3.

(c) The distribution is not symmetric as figure 3 shows a lop-sided diagram. The mode should be at the center, but this figure shows the mode off to the left side.

(d) Count how many copies of '4' or '5' show up in the interior of the grid shown in figure 1. There are four copies of '4' and two copies of '5'. Overall there are 4+2 = 6 instances of either '4' or '5'. This is out of 36 total, so 6/36 = 1/6 is the fractional form of the answer which approximates to 0.1667 and converts to 16.67% approximately.
