Houses have been built around a small retention pond, increasing the fertilizer runoff into the pond. This has led to algal bloo

ms in the pond which periodically reduce the amount of dissolved oxygen available in the water. What will be the most likely long-term effect on the fish population living in the pond if the situation with the fertilizer does not change?
A. The fish population will grow as more offspring are born that can take advantage of the new conditions.

B. The population will be replaced by a different species of fish that consumes algae for food.

C. The fish population will learn to survive with less oxygen and more algae in the water.

D. The population will evolve, leaving only those genetically equipped to deal with low oxygen levels.

How is osteoporosis different from rickets
nasty-shy [4]

Rickets is a disease of growing bones. Consequently, it usually is seen in young, weaned, growing pigs in which there is a deficiency, an imbalance, or a failure of utilization of calcium, phosphorous or vitamin D. Rickets usually is caused by a dietary deficiency of vitamin D or phosphorus. And Osteoporosis a medical condition in which the bones become brittle and fragile from loss of tissue, typically as a result of hormonal changes, or deficiency of calcium or vitamin D. More than 10 million Americans have osteoporosis, but most do not realize that they have it.

One of the big differences is one occurs mostly to pigs and the other effects adults.Another difference is one occurs while the bones are growing and the other happens after the bones are already grown. I hope this helps!!!

The Miller and Urey experiment (or Urey–Miller experiment) was an experiment that made organic compounds out of inorganic ones b
MaRussiya [10]

Answer:

The goal of the Miller-Urey experiment was to test the idea that through basic, natural chemical reactions, the complex molecules of life (in this case, amino acids) may have emerged on our young world. The experiment was a success in generating during the simulation amino acids , the building blocks of life.

They were trying to prove that the formation of life was preceded by chemical evolution.

Explanation: MILLER-UREY EXPERIMENT

The Miller-Urey experiment (or Miller experiment) was a chemical experiment that simulated the conditions thought to be present on early Earth at the time (1952) and under those conditions tested the chemical origin of life. At that time, the experiment sponsored Alexander Oparin's and J. B. S. Haldane 's belief that putative conditions favored chemical reactions on the primitive Earth that synthesized more complex organic compounds from simpler inorganic precursors. It was conducted in 1952 by Stanley Miller, supervised at the University of Chicago by Harold Urey, and published the following year as the classic experiment investigating abiogenesis.

Water (H2O), methane ( CH4), ammonia ( NH3) and hydrogen ( H2) were utilized in the experiment. Within a sterile 5-liter glass flask linked to a 500 ml flask half-full of water, the chemicals were all sealed. To cause evaporation, the water in the smaller flask was heated and the water vapour was allowed to reach the larger flask. In order to simulate lightning in the water vapor and gaseous mixture, continuous electric sparks were shot between the electrodes and then the simulated atmosphere was cooled again so that the water condensed and trickled into a U-shaped trap at the bottom of the apparatus.

The solution gathered at the trap had turned pink after a day, and the solution was deep red and turbid after a week of continuous operation. The boiling flask was then removed and mercuric chloride was applied to avoid microbial contamination. By adding barium hydroxide and sulfuric acid, the reaction was discontinued and evaporated to eliminate impurities. Using paper chromatography, Miller detected five amino acids found in the solution: glycine, α-alanine and β-alanine were positively identified, while aspartic acid and α-aminobutyric acid (AABA) were less certain, due to the spots being faint.

Therefore, Miller's experiment was trying to prove the formation of diverse organic molecules from inorganic molecules.

how will solar energy affect us in the future? ESSAY DUE AT 9:00 A.M tomorrow. Please finish I will give 100 points
oee [108]

Answer:

i love you:)

Explanation:

Solar energy has come a long way in a decade. Back in 2010, the global market was small and highly dependent on subsidy regimes in countries such as Germany and Italy. This year there will be more than 115 gigawatts (GW) of solar installed across the world, which is more than all other generation technologies put together. It is also increasingly low cost, especially in sunnier regions where it has already become the lowest-cost form of new electricity generation.

In the coming years, technology improvements will ensure that solar becomes even cheaper. It could well be that by 2030, solar will have become the most important source of energy for electricity production in a large part of the world. This will also have a positive impact on the environment and climate change.

Going forward the solar industry has very clear cost-reduction roadmaps, which should see solar costs halving by 2030. There is already a move in place towards higher-efficiency modules, which can generate 1.5 times more power than existing, similarly sized modules today using a technology called tandem silicon cells. These are going to have a large impact going forward.

In addition, there are production innovations coming down the pipeline that will reduce the amounts of costly materials such as silver and silicon used in the manufacture of solar cells, as well as innovations such as bifacial modules which allow panels to capture solar energy from both sides. The other important innovation is around how best to integrate solar into our homes, businesses and power systems. This means better power electronics and a greater use of low-cost digital technologies.

What this means is that solar will reach, in many parts of the world, a levelized cost of energy that will make it unbeatable compared to fossil fuels. Given that solar is so easy and quick to install, not to mention flexible - after all, solar can be used to power something as small as a watch or as large as a city - it should mean that solar installations continue to grow over the coming decade. This could also be very good for the climate. Now that is something bright to write about.
