Answer:

The character meant to be the speaker in these lines is: Satan.

Explanation:

Paradise Lost" is an epic poem in blank verse by English author John Milton. It tells the story of the Fall - Adam and Eve's sin that cost them paradise. Satan is introduced early in the poem. He is the leader of the fallen angels, the ones who rebelled against God. A rational character - at least at first - Satan uses his intelligence to corrupt humankind. He would rather reign in Hell than be a servant in Heaven. As he says,

Fall'n cherub, to be weak is miserable,

Doing or suffering: but of this be sure,

To do aught good never will be our task,

But ever to do ill our sole delight,

As being the contrary to his high will

Whom we resist. [...]

Out of our evil seek to bring forth good,

Our labor must be to p.ervert that end

Note: I had to spell p.ervert this way because Brainly wouldn't let me post it. It is considered a bad word.

Select the word that most effectively connects the ideas in this sentence: My family laughs when I sing in the shower. _______
Mashcka [7]

Answer:

But

Explanation:

The conjunction but is used to express a contrast with something that has been mentioned before. As a result, it indicates an opposing idea between what the speaker's family and friends think regarding his singing abilities.

The rest of the options are incorrect because and introduces additional information; for presents a cause; and because precedes a reason.

Can someone answer these questions, thanks.
Elan Coil [88]

Explanation:

1a) When they call the Montagues "dogs," they are looking down upon them with scorn. They're not talking about cute little dogs that are pets. The two families see each other as the lowest of the low.

1b) Tybalt is far more violent. He openly threatens him: "Turn thee Benvolio! look upon thy death." Benvolio replies by saying he just wants to "keep the peace." Shakespeare is establishing a precedent for the comparison of their characters, and we'll see more of Tybalt's fiery spirit later.

1c) Capulet's wife asks her husband "Why call you for a sword?" and Montague's wife commands hers "Thou shalt not stir one foot to seek a foe." Clearly, the two women don't want any more strife between their families. They are wise enough to know that the conflict could end in death.
