The colony had prospered under royal rule, and many Georgians thought that they needed the protection of British troops against a possible Indian attack.

Answer:

It was believed that protests would turn violent.

Explanation:

In 1732, Georgia become the last British colony to be founded and established. The place was intended to be a refuge for debtors and those who were poor to make it in life. The loyalists thought they would pursue peaceful protests and violence would give rise to mob tyranny. They also held the general belief that violence would result in loss of the economic prosperity of the colony that was derived from the affiliation to the British. Thus, they had many loyalists.
