Why is there a b) in the middle of the polygon?  Question creators, proofread your figures.

a) Two triangles and a kite

Top triangle (1/2)(5.53)(1.5)

Bottom triangle (1/2)(6)(2)

The kite is like two triangles with shared base 2+3=5 and combined height 7,

(1/2)(5)(7)

Adding it up,

area = (1/2)(5.53)(1.5) +  (1/2)(6)(2) + (1/2)(5)(7) = 27.6475

Answer: 27.6475  sq cm

b) Three triangles, including one right triangle

Area = (1/2) (6.7)(3) + (1/2)(6.2)(2.5) + 1/2(6.2)(2) = 24.

Answer: 24 sq cm

The window in Mr. Rodriguez's attic is in two parts, each shaped like a trapezoid and each with identical dimensions.
WINSTONCH [101]
<h2>Answer:</h2>

\boxed{A=552in^2}

<h2>Step-by-step explanation:</h2>

The window is shown below, so we have two trapezoids. A trapezoid is a quadrilateral (polygon with exactly 4 sides) where at least one pair of opposite sides are parallel. The area of a trapezoid can be found as:

A=\frac{(b_{1}+b_{2})h}{2} \\ \\ Where: \\ \\ b_{1} \ and \ b_{2} \ are \ the \ parallel \ sides \ and \ h \ the \ height

Since there are two trapezoids and each with identical dimensions, we can find the area of the window by finding the area of one trapezoid and multiplying this result by 2:

A=2 \times \frac{(b_{1}+b_{2})h}{2} \\ \\ A=(b_{1}+b_{2})h \\ \\ where: \\ b_{1}=30in \\ b_{2}=16in \\ h=12in

Finally:

A=(16+30)\times 12 \\ \\ \therefore \boxed{A=552in^2}

The friend is incorrect because 2 translations would just move the shape to a different area, then a reflection would reflect it.

Long story short: if you do to translations that only move in one direction for ex. X+10 y+ 0 then it will be a glide reflection

Sedbober [7]

Answer:

The relation is discrete function

Domain is  {x|x = 2,2,2}

Range is {y|y = 4, -1, -3}

Step-by-step explanation:

I. This function is discrete because x = 2,2,2

and y = 4, -1, -3

Or (2,4), (2,-1) and (2,-3)

If this function is continuous, the x and y will be something like this -3 <= x <= 3

II. Domain is x.value

III. Range is y.value
