The correct answer is C. Revising style.

Explanation

The revision of a text involved checking and correcting a text to improve it. In the case of style, this includes checking the tonee that refers to the emotion the reader must feel while reading a text. This is important because a text without tone seems emotionless and would have the appearance of an official document. So, the correct answer is C. Revising style.

Up from slavery chapter 14 summary<br>please help me
Anarel [89]

Answer:

Tuskegee establishes a night-school in 1884 to accommodate students who cannot afford to attend the institution. Tuskegee models its night-school after the night-school at Hampton Institute, requiring students to work for ten hours during the day at a trade or industry and to study for two hours in the evening. Only students who cannot afford the board of day-school can attend. The Treasury keeps all but a little of the students’ wages, so that when students eventually transfer to the day-school they have means to pay their tuition. This process usually takes two years. The difficulty of the night-school is the most severe test of a student’s dedication and commitment due to the long hours and level of discipline the program requires. Washington observes that many of Tuskegee’s most successful students began their study at the night-school.

lutik1710 [3]

Answer:

The valley of ashes between West Egg and New York City consists of a long stretch of desolate land created by the dumping of industrial ashes. It represents the moral and social decay that results from the uninhibited pursuit of wealth, as the rich indulge themselves with regard for nothing but their own pleasure. The valley of ashes also symbolizes the plight of the poor, like George Wilson, who live among the dirty ashes and lose their vitality as a result.

Read the excerpt from "Mary Louise” by Edith van Dyne.
Naya [18.7K]
<span>The statement, "Mary Louise Burrows is directly characterized as poised" correctly describes a portion of the characterization in this excerpt. Specifically, this is implied by the words, "...her unconscious but distinctive poise of bearing," which phrase is then contrasted with, "...And she was fifteen -- an age when many girls are both awkward and shy."</span>

We must put excited feelings away. Our motive will not be revenge or the victorious assertion of the physical might of the natio
Leokris [45]
The best answer for this question is the first one, "not about emotions but about defending the nation." Rather than listening to anger or other "excited" feelings that we have, we must operate in wars using reason, calmness, and rationality in order to make the best decisions. Decisions that come out of excited feelings can end in more destruction. The purpose of war is to protect the rights of people, in this case the American people. Hope this helps.
