In short because not knowing something really bugs people.

We humans tend to be inquisitive by nature. So, we developed science in order to satisfy our curiosity and to understand the natural world.

The whole point of science is to try to understand the natural world around us. We do this through repeatable, statistical and empirical means in order to try to figure things out, and try do so with minimal error.

One of the big things that are bugging scientist today is: where does life come from? Obviously we see life all around us, so it must’ve come from somewhere.

So the current running theory is that life is just very complex chemistry. And for life to have started,(as it obviously did), it needed to self replicate, and the two well-known molecules that can self replicate is DNA and RNA, but further testing needs to be done in order to figure out which molecule came first.

It may not end up being DNA or RNA at all, but some other nucleic acid we have yet to discover. That’s what makes science so cool, because it’s on the cutting edge between knowledge and ignorance.

I hope that helps.

WILL MARK BRAINLIEST IF CORRECT
Oduvanchick [21]

Answer: Tension

Explanation: Fault-block mountains are formed by the movement of large crustal blocks along faults formed when tensional forces pull apart the crust. Tension is often the result of uplifting part of the crust; it can also be produced by opposite-flowing convection cells in the mantle.

What is the main function of the ozone layer? a. to provide cloud cover for protection of polar regions b. to block most of t
murzikaleks [220]

<u>Answer:</u>

The main function of the ozone layer is to block most of the sun's damaging rays from reaching Earth.

Option: (b)

<u>Explanation:</u>

  • The stratosphere containing high level of ozone molecules about 30 km to 50 km altitude helps to absorb the sun's ultra violate rays.
  • In its absence, it would be very difficult for anything to survive. Plants cannot live and grow as the UV light causes weakening of plants.
  • It causes skin cancers. The increase in UV flux will lead to increase in sunburn, blindness, cataract, causing potentially death of animals and plants.

Eukaryotic cells. Classify each statement according to whether it occurs in eukaryotic cells, prokaryotic cells, or both.
frutty [35]

Answer:

<u>Both</u>:

  • The start codon is often AUG

<u>Eukaryotic cell only:</u>

  • The larger subunit of the ribosome is 60s.
  • The ribosomes initially binds the 5' end of mRNA.

<u>Prokaryotic cell only</u>:

  • The ribosome is 70s
  • Translation occurs in the cytoplasm
  • There are multiple ribosome binding site

Explanation:

  • AUG is the common start codon for both eukaryotic as well prokaryotic cells. In eukaryotic cell, it codes for methionine . While in prokaryotic cell, it codes for formyl methionine.
  • In prokaryotic cell, ribosomes are found in cytoplasm, hence the translation occurs in cytoplasm.
  • Eukaryotic ribosome consists of two subunits; 40s and 60s(larger subunit)
  • Prokaryotic ribosomes have 70s ribososme, which consists of 50s and 20s subuints
  • in eukaryotic cell, 40s ribosome initially binds to the cap at the 5' end of mRNA.
  • Bacterial mRNA contain multiple ribosome binding sites.
