Why do you think some historians describe the event ( Soviet invasion) in Afghanistan as the "Afghanistan Miracle"?

Answer:

The Soviet invasion of Afghanistan took place between 1979 and 1989. It faced the Soviet Union (which supported the Marxist-Leninist government in Afghanistan) and the Afghan Islamic Mujahedin movement. The rebels were backed by the United States, which saw it as part of the Cold War. Already in 1978, an uprising against the Soviet-backed government that took power began. The uprising only worsened when the Soviet Union joined a large number of troops and occupied the country in December 1979. However, despite the notorious military and economic superiority of the Soviet forces and the Afghan government, the invasion lasted 10 years, and was finally defeated by the Mujahideen forces. The fact that the mujahideen fought inspired by religious convictions helped to defeat a Soviet army that was tired of fighting in a foreign conflict. However, the fact of the victory of the weakest side in this conflict was cataloged by historians as the Afghan Miracle.

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

Although the question does not provide references to task studied in class or other references, we can say that the issue that is relevant to me or that is currently being discussed in my local or national news is the official visit that the Mexican President, Andrés Manuel López Obrador made to Washington D.C. to have conversations with the United States President, The news says that this is an important visit for both countries due to the close relationship they have as neighborhoods and the importance of trade. The reporter said it was relevant because Mexico, Canada, and the United States have signed a new trade agreement called USMCA, United States, Mexico, and Canada Agreement.

D-DAY was the most significant event in ending the war in Europe during WWII' How far do you agree with this statement?
Elis [28]

Answer:

The D-Day military invasion that helped to end World War II was one the most ambitious and consequential military campaigns in human history. In its strategy and scope—and its enormous stakes for the future of the free world—historians regard it among the greatest military achievements ever.

D-Day, code-named Operation Overlord, launched on June 6, 1944, after the commanding Allied general, Dwight D. Eisenhower, ordered the largest invasion force in history—hundreds of thousands of American, British, Canadian and other troops—to ship across across the English Channel and come ashore on the beaches of Normandy, on France’s northern coast. After almost five years of war, nearly all of Western Europe was occupied by German troops or held by fascist governments, like those of Spain and Italy. The Western Allies’ goal: to put an end to the Germany army and, by extension, to topple Adolf Hitler’s barbarous Nazi regime.
