Lacking a political voice,
Invisible to the middle class,
Jobless due to automation,

People only had one belief of religion, and other religions were seen as not good enough.
Prior to the 1980 elections, the United States were dealing
with several problems such as the energy crises, low economic growth, inflation
and the Iran Hostage Crises. The morale
of the people was low and their mood was suspicious. Reagan promised to uplift
the mood of the American public as well fix the economy. This enabled him to
win the elections.
