serious [3.7K]
In the early 1830s, the white actor Thomas Dartmouth “Daddy” Rice was propelled to stardom for performing "Minstrel Routines" as the fictional “Jim Crow,” a character of African American race as someone who was clumsy, dimwitted black slave. This character was pure comic relief. As the show grew in popularity, “Jim Crow” became a widely used derogatory term for blacks. Once the laws came around. Whites quickly adapted the name Jim Crow to the unfair laws for the African Americans. Remembering the character Jim Crow.

Question 5 (1 point)
Advocard [28]

Answer:

1. Evaporation - vaporization that occurs only on the surface of a liquid (a "shrinking" puddle is an example)

2. Vaporization - occurs when the particles in a liquid gain enough energy to move independently, becoming a gas

3. Boiling - vaporization that takes place both below and at the surface of a liquid (water heated on a stovetop until it is bubbling)

4. Boiling point -  the specific temperature at which a liquid boils (this is a physical property that scientists use to help identify unknown substances)

Explanation:

When you're unsure about what a word means, you can look it up in a dictionary - an alphabetically arranged listing of words that contains different information about them, such as their definitions, examples, origin, pronunciation, etc.

Considering that all of these terms are from the same field, you could also use a glossary - an alphabetically arranged listing of words from the same field with their definitions. These words seem like they could be related to chemistry, so you could use a glossary of chemistry terms.

What is the event of this story the penny experiment?
pantera1 [17]
Paola is 12 years‐old. She lives in Seville, Spain. The streets of her city are lined with beautiful orange trees. The oranges that grow here are sometimes called Bitter Oranges, because they are sharp to the taste. Tourists often come to Seville to see the beauty of Spain. They like to see flamenco, a colorful style of Spanish dancing, or visit a royal palace called the Alcázar. But while all the tourists were coming to Spain, Paola and her family were off visiting New York City. They had many things to see while they were there, and seeing the Statue of Liberty was on the top of the list.
