Your first cousin died of tay-sachs disease (autosomal recessive, incidence 0.09%). you are not affected, nor is anyone else in
AlexFokin [52]
25%

Starting from my First cousin family, I know for sure that the Uncle is is a carrier (Aa) and he must have married a wife who is also a carrier (Aa) and that is how they got an affected son. Thus, this leads to the fact that either both of my grandparents are carriers (Aa x Aa) or only one of them is a carrier (Aa x AA). As a result, the chances that my mom (who is related to the uncle who has a defected child) is a carrier is either (2/3 or 1/2) depending if my grandparents genotype, respectively. Thus, if my mom chances of being a carrier is 1/2 then my chance of being a carrier is 1/4. (given that my dad is not a carrier b/c CF is a rare disease) However, if my mom chance of being a carrier is 2/3 then my chance of being a carrier is (2/3)x(1/2)=(1/3) As a result, I could either be 1/4 or 1/3. But since the answer only provide the choice of 1/4 and not 1/3. This leave 25% is the correct answer.

How are hydrogen bonds different from convalent bonds
Pie
This means means that it's not as strong as a covalent bond. A hydrogen bond occurs in water when the oxygen, which is slightly more negative than the hydrogen, becomes attracted to another water molecule's hydrogen. ... On the other hand covalent bonds require the sharing of electrons between atoms.Jun 29, 2014

Why do greenstick fractures commonly occur in children? Their bones contain higher amounts of collagen. Their bones contain high
Alisiya [41]

Answer:

This traumatic pathology occurs in children because the concentration of minerals is lower in children, since these have a greater collagen fibrillar organic structure, which is what gives children greater elasticity during bone growth until the areas close. proliferative.

The denomination in green stem comes from the analogy between this type of fracture and the one that occurs when trying to break the green stem of a plant.

It is characterized by being an incomplete fracture, with rupture of the periosteum and cortical bone on the convex side of the bone, while in the concave area the periosteum does not break, as a consequence the bone is not completely broken (incomplete fracture), but the fragments move and present an angulation of variable amplitude that needs to be corrected

Explanation:

To be more specific, these fractures occur more up to ten years of age, according to some research.

The centers of bone proliferation and differentiation where osteochondral mineralization of long bones occurs is what confers greater flexibility and greater organic content in the long bones of children.

Sequencing eukaryotic genomes is more difficult than sequencing genomes of bacteria or archaea because of the _____.
AlekseyPX
Are there options? because there are lots of answers.

Firstly, eukaryotic DNA tends to be much longer; it's held inside a nucleus, so it has to be separated from the rest of the cell; and there are also mitochondria in most eukaryotic cells, which have their own RNA, which has to be separated.
