Find the sum of all multiples of 7 lying between<br>500 &amp; 900
Anna11 [10]

Answer:

Sₙ = 57/2 * (504 + 896) = 39900

Step-by-step explanation:

first multiple of 7 after 500 is: 72 *7 = 504

last multiple of 7 before 900 is: 128 *7 = 896

a₁ = 504

aₙ = 896

where n = 128-72 +1 = 57

sum of arithmetic sequence: Sₙ = n/2 * (a₁ + aₙ)

Sₙ = 57/2 * (504 + 896) = 39900

The dimensions of a square are altered so that 8 inches is added to one side while 3 inches is subtracted from the other. The ar
Alex_Xolod [135]

Answer

Find out the original side length of the square .

To prove

Let us assume that the original length of the square be x.

Formula

Area\ of\ rectangle = Length\times Breadth

As given

The dimensions of a square are altered so that 8 inches is added to one side while 3 inches is subtracted from the other.

Length becomes  = x + 8

Breadth becomes = x -3

The area of the resulting rectangle is 126 in²

Put in the formula

(x + 8) × (x - 3) = 126

x² -3x + 8x -24 = 126

x ²+ 5x = 126 +24

x² + 5x - 150 = 0

x² + 15x - 10x - 150 = 0

x (x + 15) -10 (x +15) =0

(x + 15)(x -10) =0

Thus

x = -15 , 10

As x = -15 (Neglected this value because the side of the square cannot be negative.)

Therefore x = 10 inches be the original side of the square.

x^2+6x+4 Which of the following is equivalent to the expression above? Justify your answer. A) (x+3)^2+5 B) (x+3)^2-5 C) (x-3)^2
vaieri [72.5K]

Answer:

B) ( x+3)² - 5

Step-by-step explanation:

Given expression

               x²+6x+4

Adding '9' and subtracting '9' of given expression

      ⇒ x² + 2 (3) (x) +(3)² -(3)² +4

(a + b)² = a² + 2 a b + b²

     ⇒ ( x+3)² - 9 +4

     ⇒ ( x+3)² -5

as a sales person at Trending Card Unlimited, Justin receives a monthly base pay plus commission on all that he sells. If he sel
Amiraneli [1.4K]

Answer:

  $1025

Step-by-step explanation:

We can use the 2-point form of the equation of a line to write a function that gives Justin's salary as a function of his sales.

We start with (sales, salary) = (400, 500) and (700, 575)

__

The 2-point form of the equation of a line is ...

  y = (y2 -y1)/(x2 -x1)(x -x1) +y1

  salary = (575 -500)/(700 -400)(sales -400) +500

  salary = 75/300(sales -400) +500

For sales of 2500, this will be ...

  salary = (1/4)(2500 -400) +500 = (2100/4) +500 = 1025

Justin's salary after selling $2500 in merchandise is $1025.
