They ideally believe that this makes it so that the father is able to go out and work, and the mother can stay at home and take care of the kids. They think that this would be the most stable environment for children. The main thing they think is messing up their idea of "perfect" families is government welfare which helps single parents and encourages single parenting, and "handouts from the government" and they argue welfare leads to deviancy and a decline in morality. This whole idea of a nuclear family being the best type of family has a lot of criticism and many people view it as old fashioned and out dated.
