I believe that within that time period, men were the ones who earned the money and women were expected to do household duties. With all the historical events that had occurred, I believe that with that scenario, that should have been uncalled for. But yet again, there was and still is severe racial segregation amongst us.

As it is used in the text, "America" is symbolic for _______ in the story tears of autumn
Lyrx [107]

Answer:

America symbolizes freedom and a new life.

Explanation:

I haven't read the Tears of Autumn, but typically in any story, migrating to America means the start of a new life for people. If you've ever heard of the phrase, "The American Dream", it means that people come here for the opportunities and jobs. Japan does not have as much freedom as America, therefore it represents a chance to start again with new opportunities and freedom.

Consider the line "(the soil)/ Is bare now, nor can feet feel, being shod."
wel

<u>Answer:</u>

<em>"(the soil)/ Is bare now, nor can feet feel, being shod," </em>- by analysing the line, we deduce that Hopkins means people are out of touch with God because they're out of touch with the earth.

<em>The correct option is Option D. </em>

<em></em>

<u>Explanation:</u>

Gerard Manley Hopkins’s “God’s Grandeur,” is an exploration of the bond between Nature and God. It is about how the Almighty is infused in everything around us, despite man’s effort to ruin everything. When the sonnet was written, industrial and commercial revolutions were at their peak which put extra pressure on the environment. To express his concern and to cause awareness among others, Hopkins penned down this beautiful realisation.
