Answer:

Memo No. 003

California, June 15, 2020

From: José Carreiras

To: Mariah Stone

Subject: New workday.

Dear Miss Stone,

In view of the changes in the workday, I would like to inform you about some results that I could see with these changes.

First of all, I would like to highlight the advantage of having a reduced workload to protect our workers, who are able to reduce their exposure and thus reduce the spread of Coronavirus in our environment. On the other hand, I would like to inform you that there is a disadvantage in working only 4 hours a day, which is the decrease in our production and consequently the decrease in our profits.

With this in mind, I conclude that we must arrange a meeting so that new strategies for working hours are established, taking into account the success of our company and the protection of our collaborators and employees.

I await your reply, have a nice day.

Jose Carreiras

Director of human resources department

Explanation:

A memo is short, to the point and objective. It is usually done to address issues of commercial and administrative level and is written with a clear, summarized and very well elaborated message, as these sectors require that everything be done with agility.

It is important to remember that the memos consist of obeying a specific model, but that model can be modified as needed. This model generally presents itself as:

  1. Memo number;
  2. Sender;
  3. Recipient;
  4. Subject indication;
  5. Place and date;
  6. Body of the message;
  7. Farewell;
  8. Signature and title.
