Answer: x=12.37 (2 decimal place) and the second box is √153

Step-by-step explanation:

You would have to use pythagoras theorem.

The formula for the short side is x²=c²-b²

The formula with the numbers in it is x²=13²-4²

13²=169

4²=16

x²=169-16

x²=153

To find x on its own you would have to square root 153.

x=12.37 (2 decimal places)

Hope this helps :)

50 POINTS! QUICKLY Are the pairs of variables x and y the solutions to the equation x^2–2y=7?
Fittoniya [83]

Hi there!

\large\boxed{(5,8) \text{ and } (1.2, -2.78)}}

We are given the equation:

x² - 2y = 7

To verify if each ordered pair is apart of the function, we can plug in their respective x and y values:

1. (5)² - 2(8) = 7

25 - 16 = 9 ≠ 7. This is NOT correct.

2. (-1)² - 2(-3) = 7

1 + 6 = 7. This is correct.

3. (-4)² - 2(-11.5) = 7

16 + 23 = 39 ≠ 7. This is NOT correct.

4. (1.2)² - 2(-2.78) = 7

1.44 +5.56 = 7. This is correct.

Thus, only 1 and 4 are the correct answers.

How do you find the arctan 4/3 ? (Without a calculator)
Soloha48 [4]
If arctan 4/3 = the tangent of that angle will be 4/3 , opposite 4 over adjacent 3

Now, you only have to take the sin of that angle it's opposite 4 over hypotenuse 5.

You will get that the answer is 4/5

hope this helps
