According to the definition of moles,

moles = weight/molecular weight

given:

the molecular weight of beryllium = 9.01

∵ 9.01 g weight of beryllium = 1 mole

∴ 1 g weight of beryllium = 1/9.01 moles

∴ 101 g of beryllium =101/9.01  moles

The = 11.209 moles.
