No, this is not true every time. It depends on the conditions given.

For example-

Suppose we have a Box A with dimensions 10 x 10 x 1 and Box B with dimensions 5 x 5 x 5.

Box B has a surface area = 2(25+25+25) = 150 and a volume of 5*5*5= 125 cubic units

Box A has a larger surface area = 2(100+10+10) = 240 and a smaller volume = 10*10*1 = 100 cubic units

Similarly take an example of sphere.

Lets suppose the radius of the sphere is 2 cm

So, SA is 4πr² = 4*3.14*2*2 = 50.24 cm²

Volume of the sphere is = 4πr³ /3 = 33.50 cm³

Here also the SA is greater.

The volume of a cylinder is 8177 cm³. If the radius is 3 cm, what is the height
Virty [35]

Answer:

None of the options are correct

О E. 289.2 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Volume of a cylinder = v = л r² h

л = 3.1416     (aprox)

r = radius

h = height

8177 = 3.1416 * 3² * h

8177 = 3.1416 * 9 * h

8177 = 28.2744 * h

8177/282744 = h

h = 289.2 cm

What is the ratio of the number of dollars in Andy's pocket to the number of dollars in Ron's pocket?
fomenos
Well we would need to know how much is in each pocket. So for example is Jan has 10$ in hers and Logan has 6 in his the ratio would be 10:6 I hope this makes sense

In 1990, 23.8% of 18-24 year-olds in Biddeford, Maine were attending college. About 10 years later, a random sample of 610 18-24
Vlada [557]

Answer:

There is enough evidence to support the claim that the percentage of residents attending college in that age-group is greater than 23.8%

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given the following in the question:

Sample size, n = 610

p = 23.8% = 0.238

Alpha, α = 0.01

Number of 18-24 year-old attending college , x = 178

First, we design the null and the alternate hypothesis

H_{0}: p = 0.238\\H_A: p > 0.238

This is a one-tailed(right) test.

Formula:

\hat{p} = \dfrac{x}{n} = \dfrac{178}{610} = 0.2918

z = \dfrac{\hat{p}-p}{\sqrt{\dfrac{p(1-p)}{n}}}

Putting the values, we get,

z = \displaystyle\frac{0.2918-0.238}{\sqrt{\frac{0.238(1-0.238)}{610}}} = 3.1201

Now, we calculate the p-value from the table.

P-value = 0.0009

Since the p-value is lower than the significance level, we fail to accept the null hypothesis and reject the null hypothesis.

Conclusion:

Thus there is enough evidence to support the claim that the percentage of residents attending college in that age-group is greater than 23.8%
