Which of these is not a property of lymphatic capillaries?
Inessa05 [86]

Answer:

They are smaller than blood capillaries.

Explanation:

Lymphatic capillaries drains the extracellular fluid present between the cell spaces. The fluid is known as lymph as it enters the lymph capillaries. These capillaires drains into lymph vessels that drains to lymph nodes and lymph ultimately enters the venous circulation.

Lymphatic capillaries are slightly larger than blood vessels and these capillaries have close ends. The walls of lymph capillaries are made up of endothelial cells. The endothelial cells overlap in lymph vessels and when the pressure in ECF is greater these cells move and create a sort of gap for the movement of ECF inside the lymph capillary but when the pressure inside the capillary is greater these cells again overlap and does not allow the lymph to move outside of capillary. Thus lymph capillaries only allow the ECF to enter the capillary but does not allow the lymph to go out from capillary. Lymph capillaries have greater internal pressure than blood vessels.

Hormones are chemical molecules produced by endocrine glands. One such endocrine gland is the thyroid gland, which synthesizes t
mixas84 [53]

Answer:

The right answer is 1 and 4

Explanation:

A hormone is a biologically active chemical substance, synthesized by a glandular cell secreted into the internal environment where it circulates, acting remotely and by blood on receptors specific to a target cell. It transmits a message in chemical form and therefore plays a role of messenger in the body.

The emitting organ thus acts at a distance on all of the target organs of the organism or of neighboring organisms of the same species, or even of symbiotic organisms whose receptors are activated in contact with specific hormones (lasting interactions).

Fudgin [204]

Full Question:

Consider the two types of sudoriferous glands. Then click and drag each label into the appropriate category to determine whether it applies to apocrine glands, merocrine (eccrine) glands, or both.

-Not active until puberty

-Use myoepithelial cells to secrete

-Secrete sweat

-Found in pubic and axillary regions

-Secrete pheromones

-Abundant on hands, feet, and forehead

-Found over entire body

-Scent is meant to attract a potential male

-Thermoregulation

-Utilize ducts to release sweat

Answer:

Apocrine Glands:

-Not active until puberty

-Secrete pheromones

-Found in pubic and axillary regions

-Scent is meant to attract a potential male

Merocrine Glands:

-Found over entire body

-Thermoregulation

-Abundant on hands, feet, and forehead

Both Apocrine and Merocrine Glands:

-Secrete sweat

-Use Myoepithelial cells to secrete

-Utilize ducts to release sweat

Explanation:

The apocrine and merocrine glands are the subcategories of the sudoriferous glands which secrete the different types of secretions like sweat and oils. Both of them have myoepithelial cells.

The apocrine glands are mainly dependent on the sex hormones and are mainly present in the public region, beard etc. The sweat secreted from these glands are rich in fatty acids and other pheromones. These glands are regional in nature. But the merocrine glands are not hormonal in nature. They are distributed all over the body and secrete sweat whose primary function is to lower body temperature.

What is the least diverse species in PA
Salsk061 [2.6K]

Hi. Your question is incomplete and it would be necessary for a text, a table, a graph or any other element that demonstrates the diversity of species to be presented for this question to be answered. However, I will try to help you as best I can.

The word "diversity" refers to differences and varieties that the same element presents. In this case, a species with little diversity is a species that shows little or no difference between its members. So, to answer your question, you need to identify the species that has the least difference within the community it makes up. For this, you will need to analyze your question complete, with all the elements that make it up.
