Answer:

A

Explanation:

After 2/3 of Congress votes to pass an amendment it is sent to States for approval. 3/4 of the states (38) must approve before it is ratified to the U.S Constitution. This is done by a vote in the State Legislature or a special ratifying convention.

The Court has established a three-part test to define obscenity, including applying “local community standards” in determining w
11Alexandr11 [23.1K]

Answer:

The Miller Test is the primary legal test for determining whether expression constitutes obscenity. It is named after the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Miller v. California (1973). The Miller test faced its greatest challenge with online obscenity cases. In Ashcroft v. ACLU (2002), a case challenging the constitutionality of the Child Online Protection Act, several justices questioned the constitutionality of applying the local community standards of Miller to speech on the Internet. In this photo, Associate Legal Director of the ACLU Ann Beeson gestures during a news conference outside the Supreme Court on Tuesday, March 2, 2004 in Washington. The ACLU claimed COPA violated the First Amendment guarantee of free speech. They challenged the law on behalf of online bookstores, artists and others, including operators of Web sites that offer explicit how-to sex advice or health information. The Supreme Court agreed with the lower court’s ruling that COPA did not pass the strict scrutiny test used to judge obscenity cases. Include in your discussion your thoughts on individuals who seem to be lifetime "victims" regardless of the circumstance.
IgorLugansk [536]

Answer:

A lot of people who have committed crimes tend to get lifetime charges even though they could have had personal problems. People in court systems tend to ignore clear signs of mental issues or trauma in a victim of a lifetime system if it means a family can get some sort of relief over the situation. Its rather unfair but what can be changed about it? Even if the victim were to be put into a mental institute it wouldn't do much for them, sadly. In most places such as a mental hospital, the person who was sent after commiting a crime will be put into harsh placements and won't get most of the help they need. And if anything is done for them and they are finally fit for jail it can still effect the victim harshly.

Decided during the Constitutional Convention of 1787, this accommodation onrepresentation in the proposed US House of Representa
miv72 [106K]

Answer:

The correct answer is A. Decided during the Constitutional Convention of 1787, this accommodation onrepresentation in the proposed US House of Representatives tacitly acknowledged slavery and kept the Southern slave states from rejecting the Constitution. It was called the Three-Fifths Compromise.

Explanation:

The Three-Fifths Compromise was a compromise reached between delegates from the southern states and delegates from the northern states during the Constitutional Convention in 1787. The debate centered on on the fact whether slaves would be counted at the same time as determining the total population of a state to determine legislative representation and for taxative functions. The matter was important, while that population number then used to determine how many seats the state would have in the House of Representatives for the next ten years. The effect was to give the southern states one-third more seats in Congress and one-third more votes they would otherwise have, allowing slave interests to largely dominate the United States government until 1865.
