A nucleus consists of a nuclear membrane that surrounds it, within the membrane there is a nucleolus which can be compared metaphorically to the yolk of an egg in appearance. The nucleolus is surrounded by nucleoplasm which is quite like the cytoplasm.

The rate of firing of the postsynaptic neuron depends on the amount of ______ input it receives from the presynaptic neuron.
DIA [1.3K]

The correct answer is d. both excitation and inhibition.

There is a process which is called summation and it refers to the process that determines whether or not an action potential (on postsynaptic neuron) will be generated by the combined effects of excitatory and inhibitory signals (from the presynaptic neurons). Depending on the sum total of inputs, summation may or may not reach the threshold voltage to trigger an action potential (firing of postsynaptic potential).

The first place that the reabsorption of water is not automatically coupled to the reabsorption of filtered solutes occurs in th
Alina [70]

Answer:

False

Explanation:

The correct answer is false because Reabsorption of water and other filtered solutes like vitamins, sodium e.t.c. take place in the proximal convoluted tubules.

Reabsorption is when water and solutes in the PCT are removed and moved back into the blood and it's a process that take place through bulk transport.

The solutes and water are transported from the PCT to the interstitium and then move into peri-tubular capillaries and reabsorption in PCT is isosmotic i.e solutes have the same osmotic pressure.
