They would practice religious freedom when they went because, where they were there was limited religious freedom so they wanted to practice their own. It took some a few years and some didn't even make it all the way because they had wagons not a lot of food and they had to walk almost 3000 miles (2130 to be exact) they had many difficulties because they had weather problems, they had native american attacks there were diseases and they did not survive very much with not a lot of food to last them a few years!

I still can't believe you are learning this in high school when i'm in 5th grade and i know this.
