1. The sun's energy is important because the sun is the key ingredient for energy to get passed around. How? Well the sun provides energy for plant which provides energy for herbivores which then provides energy for carnivores like us. Without the sun there would be no living things. Another reason that the sun's energy is important is because we can use the sun's radiation to generate heat and electricity.

2 - The shrew provides energy for the snake.

The red line is pointing towards the snake from the shrew meaning that the energy from the shrew is transferred to the snake after it is consumed.

3 - 3

Herbivores are animals that eat only plants. The animals that are herbivores in the shown food web are the deer, the rabbit and the grasshopper. Like stated before these animals are herbivores because they only eat plants.

4 - Gray Wolf and Elk

A predator prey relationship is a relationship in which one animal consumes the other animal. The gray wolf and elk are in a predator-prey relationship as the gray wolf is a predator of the elk and the elk is a prey of the gray wolf.

5 - hawks

because the hawks feed off of the squirrels their population would decrease first. Without squirrels life would not be sustainable for hawks as they don't have another food source.
