The trees and flowers are considered the primary producer of food in any food chain. They entrap the solar energy from the sun through green leaves and convert it into food in the form of its various producers. As the consumer eats the plant only 10% of the energy of the plant is transferred to it, likewise in all the trophic levels of the food chain the energy transferred from one level to another is just 10 % of its preceding level.
