Karley is an architect building the city pool. The larger rectangle represents the entire pool area. The smaller rectangle repre

sents the pool. The shaded area represents the 4-foot walkway border around the pool. What is the area of the walkway border, or the shaded region, of this figure in square feet
Two rectangles, one lying completely within the other. The area between the rectangles is shaded. Two adjacent sides of the larger rectangle are labeled sixty feet and forty feet. The shaded area is labeled four foot border.

Answer:

Area of the walkway border is 736 ft²

Step-by-step explanation:

A rectangle is a quadrilateral (has four sides and four angles) with two pairs of opposite and parallel sides. All angles in a rectangle are 90 degrees each. Also, opposite sides are equal.

The entire pool area has a length of 60 feet and width of 40 feet. The area of the entire pool area is:

Area of entire pool = length * width = 60 feet * 40 feet = 2400 ft²

The area of entire pool

A walkaway border of 4 ft is made around the pool area. There is a decrease of 4 ft round the sides of the pool area.

Therefore length of pool = length of entire pool area - 4 feet border at left - 4 feet border at right  = 60 ft - 4 ft - 4 ft = 52 ft

width of pool = width of entire pool area - 4 feet border at top - 4 feet border at bottom  = 40 ft - 4 ft - 4 ft = 32 ft

Therefore the pool is 52 ft × 32 ft

Area of pool = length * width = 52 ft * 32 ft = 1664 ft²

Area of the walkway border = Entire pool area - Area of pool = 2400 ft² - 1664 ft² = 736 ft²

Mr.jonson sells erasers for $3 each.He sold 96 erasers last week and he sold 204 erasers this week.About how much more money did
7nadin3 [17]

Answer: About $300

Step-by-step explanation:

1. To solve this problem and estimate how much more money Mr. Johnson made this week (which you can call x) you must apply the proccedure shown below:

- Round the number of erasers sold:

96 erasers≈100 erasers

204 erasers≈200 erasers

- The amount of money made last week is:

\$3*100=300\$

- The amount of money made this week is:

\$3*200=600\$

- Now, you must subtract the quantities shown above, then you obtain:

m=\$600-\$300\\m=\$300

ruslelena [56]

Answer:

10  -10  1

 1    -2  -4

-8  13 -24

Step-by-step explanation:

First multiply each element in matrix A, this gives:

-6  - 2  -3

 1   -6   -4

-4   5    0

Now we multiply each element in matrix B by  4, this gives:

-16  8  -4

 0   -4  0

 4  -8  24

Finally subtract  this from the first matrix ( subtracting element by element) gives:

10  -10  1

 1    -2  -4

-8   13- 24

Answer:

\boxed{\text{15.8 cords}}

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1. Calculate the volume of the room

V = lwh =  5 yd × 5 yd × 3 yd = 75 yd³

Step 2. Convert cubic yards to cubic feet

3 ft = 1 yd

V = \text{75 yd}^{3} \times \left(\dfrac{\text{3 ft}}{\text{1 yd}} \right)^{3} = \text{2025 ft}^{3}

Step 3. Convert cubic feet to cords

128 ft³ = 1 cord

V = \text{2025 ft}^{3} \times \dfrac{\text{1 cord}}{\text{ 128 ft}^{3}} = \textbf{15.8 cords}\\\\\text{You could fit }\boxed{\textbf{15.8 cords}} \text{ of wood into the room.}
