Explanation: There are four stages According to Piaget's theory of cognitive development which are  Sensorimotor, Preoperational, Symbolic thought  and Concrete operational.

The sensorimotor stage  is the first stage of a child's development which starts at birth till age 2. This stage is characterized  with the child acquiring knowledge by physical activities with his or her environment  which develops to developing  fine motor skills and the ability to use symbols to create  mental representations   toward end of the stage.
