The Elizabethan Theaters began in the cobbled patios of Inns - they were called Inn-yards. Upwards of 500 individuals would go to play exhibitions. There was unmistakably some significant benefit to be made in dramatic creations. James Burbage was an on-screen character, who at one time would have played in the Inn-yards and, no uncertainty , arranged a high cost with the Inn attendant to perform on his premises.  

The outdoors field of the amphitheater was known as the 'pit' or the 'yard'. The phase of the amphitheater anticipated most of the way into the 'pit'. It had a raised stage toward one side which was encompassed by three levels of roofed exhibitions with galleries neglecting the back of the stage.
