Folk music lyrics reflect the state of the medium class society and rural people, through their daily lives and aspirations. In the 1970s, it really represented the way a percentage of young Americans thought, and through this style of music, they found a way to express themselves, even to protest against national issues such as the Vietnam War or the Civil Rights.
