Answer:

Due to lack of nutrients in the soil.

Explanation:

Within a few years the forest was dying because there is no nutrient is present in the soil which can trigger the growth and development of the sol. The fallen parts of trees such as branches, tree and leaves etc are decomposed by decomposers such as bacteria and fungi which turn the fallen materials into nitrogenous materials which can be used by the plant for its growth and development.

Punnett squares use mathematical probability to help predict the genotype and phenotype combinations in genetic crosses. Select
Lina20 [59]

Question:

I failed to find the options, but I will post the way by which you can construct Punnett squares.

Answer and Explanation:

First, you need to know both parental individuals´ genotypes. From these genotypes, you will get all the possible gametes for each parent, following the principle of simple segregation.

Then, by using a simple square, you will make the crosses. This is:

  • You will locate all the possible gametes of one parent on the top of the square
  • You will place all the possible gametes of the other parent on the left edge of the square.
  • Once you have done that, you will perform the crosses. You will look for the intersection between each parent´s gametes and place all the involved alleles in the intersection-box. These are the possible genotypes, and they will be written within the square.

In the attached files, you will find an example of the cross between two pure-breeding plants.

In what part of the day do plants produce more carbon dioxide than oxygen?
AveGali [126]

Answer: The night

Explanation:

Remember that a plant does two things, it either produces energy by photosynthesis, in which case it takes up the carbon dioxide and releases oxygen, or consumes energy to grow/carry out the functions of life.

In the second case, the plant takes the glucose, or sugar, that it made during photosynthesis and breaks it into pieces, releasing energy. This step is accompanied by the release of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. This happens all the time, but since the plant does not produce sugar and release oxygen during the night, the night is when it produces more CO2 than O2.
