Answer:

Explanation:

A.) Shifting cultivation is a form of subsistence agriculture where farmers shift from one field to another. in this practice, each field is used for a few years then left alone for a period of time to allow soil recovery. crops from shifting cultivation typically all go toward feeding the farmer and their family. additionally, it often utilizes the slash-and-burn technique where vegetation is chopped down on the field and then burned.

B.) shifting cultivation is most practiced in developing regions. these developing countries mostly being in Africa Asia and South America and some other tropical regions.

C.) because of its effects on the climate, specifically the slash-and-burn technique, experts expect for a great decrease in this practice in the coming decades. also urbanization in rural areas where shifting cultivation is practiced will is expected to cause a decrease in the amount of numbers of farmers who practice the slash-and-burn technique.

Answers with Explanations:

1. Some people hunt for fish as a form of recreation. Should hunting and fishing be allowed? Should there be different rules for those who hunt and fish for food compared with those who do so for sport? Explain your answers.

Hunting and fishing, as a form of recreation, should be allowed. This allows a person, who is fond in these activities, to relax and to relieve himself from stress. It is one of his rights under the Constitution (the right to pursue what makes him happy). I believe there should be "no" separate rules regarding those who hunt and fish for food to those who do so for sport. Both of these should follow a set of regulations in order to control the number of fishes and animals that can be hunted for food or sport. Separating them is not necessary because both activities threatens the population of fish and animals, thus setting only one set of rules is clear enough to be understood.

2. Snowmobiling, power-boating, and even driving to the cottage contribute to air pollution. Is this okay? Do you think people should be allowed to pollute in order to enjoy nature?

Yes, I believe these activities are okay as long as the vehicles being used are eco-friendly. When it comes to modernization, air pollution is normal, thus people may be allowed to pollute as long as the benefit of polluting the environment outweighs the damages to the nature. Also, regulation of activities is very significant, in order to lessen those which are real or heavy contributors to air pollution. This is also the reason why there is a "Number Coding" on vehicles, in order to lessen traffic and pollution. I believe number coding or other related schemes should also be extended to snowmobiling and power-boating.

What does it say about the mindset of the American people as they settled the West?
Fittoniya [83]

Answer:

<h2>Pioneer settlers were sometimes pulled west because they wanted to make a better living. Others received letters from friends or family members who had moved west. These letters often told about a good life on the frontier. The biggest factor that pulled pioneers west was the opportunity to buy land.</h2>
