Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

By applying tangent rule in the given right triangle AOB,

tan(30°) = \frac{\text{Opposite side}}{\text{Adjacent side}}

\frac{1}{\sqrt{3}}=\frac{BO}{OA}

OA=BO(\sqrt{3})

By applying tangent rule in the given right triangle BOC,

tan(60°) = \frac{OC}{BO}

OC = BO(√3)

OA + OC = AC

BO(\sqrt{3})+BO(\sqrt{3}) =60

2√3(BO) = 60

BO = 10√3

OC = BO(√3)

OC = (10√3)(√3)

OC = 30

By applying tangent rule in right triangle DOC,

tan(60°) = \frac{OD}{OC}

OD = OC(√3)

OD = 30√3

Since, BD = BO + OD

BD = 10√3 + 30√3

BD = 40√3

      ≈ 69.3

The following shapes are similar. Set up equation and solve for the variables
koban [17]

Answer:

x=10

Step-by-step explanation:

For number 19.

The equation you get is:

X+2=6(2) this is because 5x2=10, so you have to do the same here.

so, X+2=12

-2 from both sides and you get

x=10

The maximum height of a vehicle that can safely pass under a bridge is 12 feet 5 inches. A truck measures 162 inches in height.
Bumek [7]
<h2>Answer:</h2>

<em><u>The truck cannot pass safely under the bridge. The truck is 13 inches taller than the maximum height.</u></em>

<h2>Step-by-step explanation:</h2>

In the question,

The maximum height of the vehicle which is capable of passing under the bridge is 12 feet and 5 inches.

So,

Now we know that,

1 feet = 12 inches

So,

12 feet = 12 x 12 = 144 inches

So,

Total height of the vehicle which is permissible to pass under the bridge is,

12 feet 5 inches = 144 + 5 = 149 inches

Also,

Height of the truck = 162 inches

Therefore, we can see that the permissible height is smaller than the height of the vehicle.

Height of vehicle which is more than permissible height is by,

162 - 149 = 13 inches

<em><u>Therefore, the truck cannot pass safely under the bridge. The truck is 13 inches taller than the maximum height.</u></em>

Find the value of x in the diagram
Ksenya-84 [330]

Answer:

x = 21

Step-by-step explanation:

Based on the inscribed angle theorem, we would have:

120° = 2(3x - 3)°

Solve for x

120 = 2*3x - 2*3

120 = 6x - 6

Add 6 to both sides

120 + 6 = 6x

126 = 6x

Divide both sides by 6

126/6 = x

21 = x

x = 21

what's the difference between (-4)^-3 and -4^-3. basically what's the difference when there's parenthesis for the base number?
NNADVOKAT [17]
(-4)^-3 = \frac{1}{-64}  or -0.015625
-4^-3 = \frac{1}{-64} or -0.015625

Basically in this situation there is no difference whether parenthesis are used or not.
