Adjacent angles are angles with a common side and vertex, linear pairs are adjacent angles that are supplementary, and vertical angles are angles made by the same two lines but on opposite sides.

For the first one, 5 and 6 clearly do not share a side but they are made up by the same 2 lines and are opposite of each other, making them vertical.

For the next one, since the angles only share 1 line (and not a side) they can't be any of the above.

The universally accepted film size for movies has a width of 35 millimeters. If you want to project a movie onto a square sheet
dlinn [17]

Answer:

The scale factor is 285.7143 ≅ 286.

Step-by-step explanation:

The square sheet has an area of 100 square meters.

Hence, the width of the sheet is \sqrt{100} = 10 meters.

The scale factor is needs to be in such a way, so that the film's wide will be match perfectly with the square sheet. Hence, 35x millimeters = 10 meters = 10000 millimeters .

x = \frac{10000}{35} = 285.7143.

Jordan lives 6 kilometers due south of his parents' house and 4 kilometers west of his grandparents' house. On his birthday, Jor
rusak2 [61]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The direction of movement of Jordan on his birthday forms a right angle triangle. His movement from his house to his parents due south represents the opposite side of the right angle triangle. His movement due west represents the adjacent side and the movement back home along the straight line, d represents the hypotenuse. To determine d, we would apply the Pythagorean theorem. Thus

d² = 6² + 4² = 52

d = √52 = 7.2 km

The total distance that he drove on his birthday is

6 + 4 + 7.2 = 17.2 km
