Diazomethane, CH2N2, is used in the organic chemistry laboratory despite its danger because it produces very high yields and is

selective for reaction with carboxylic acids. Draw the product of the reaction of this compound with excess diazomethane in methanol. Include H atoms at chiral centers only. If a group is achiral, do not use wedged or hashed bonds on it. Do not include lone pairs in your answer.

Answer:

See picture below

Explanation:

You are not providing the starting compound. However, I found a similar question so, I will draw the product of this compound, and then, you follow the same procedure.

As the problem states, the diazomethane is often used in reaction with carboxilic acid. This kind of reaction will do an esterification reaction, and the final product will always result in an esther.

So, with the example I give you here, all you have to do is replace the OH in the carboxilic group of your initial compound, for the OCH₃ group.

See picture below.

Hope this helps

A gas has a volume of 45.0 mL and a pressure of .98 atm. If the pressure increased to 2.1 atm and the temperature remained the s
goblinko [34]

Answer: The new volume is 95.45 mL.

Explanation:

Given: V_{1} = 45.0 mL,         P_{1} = 0.98 atm

P_{2} = 2.1 atm,               V_{2} = ?

According to Boyle's law, at constant temperature the pressure of a gas is inversely proportional to its volume.

Therefore, formula used to calculate the new volume is as follows.

\frac{P_{1}}{V_{1}} = \frac{P_{2}}{V_{2}}

Substitute the values into above formula as follows.

\frac{P_{1}}{V_{1}} = \frac{P_{2}}{V_{2}}\\\frac{0.98 atm}{45.0 mL} = \frac{2.1 atm}{V_{2}}\\V_{2} = 95.45 mL

Thus, we can conclude that the new volume is 95.45 mL.

Please solve this problem. IT IS TOO URGENT ‍♂️
kirill [66]

Answer:

1. Sulphuric acid

2. Car battery acid

3. Washing up liquid

4. Milk of magnesia

5. Metal polish

6. Oven cleaner

Explanation:

Universal paper can determine the pH of a solution. It ranges from dark red (pH 0 - very acidic) to orange/yellow, to green (pH 7 - neutral) to blue, dark blue and purple (pH 14 - very alkaline)

Sulphuric acid has the lowest pH as the universal indicator is red.

The next is car battery acid which is pink - not as acidic as red.

The next is washing up liquid, which is yellow, around pH 3 or 4.

The next is milk of magnesia with light blue, around pH 9 or 10.

Metal polish is dark blue - around pH 11.

Oven cleaner is the darkest, with purple.
