Davy Crockett summary: Davy Crockett or David is referred to by many as the ‘King of the Wild Frontier,’ as in the chorus of the song. He was rom East Tennessee and had a solid reputation for enjoying storytelling and hunting and fishing. He became a colonel for the Lawrence County, Tennessee Militia and later elected to the Tennessee state legislature. He was elected for the U.S. Congress in 1826 and was known for his opposing much of what Andrew Jackson was working at doing, in specifically the Indian Removal Act.
