According to him, World War 1 afforded black men the opportunity to work with the United States Military. This boosted their confidence and made it more possible for them to demand for their civil rights. The Double V campaign that signified the quest for victory home and abroad was one of such movements aimed at demanding the restoration of the rights of black men.
