In the rising action of Nectar in a Sieve, we are already familiar with the two main characters that were introduced to us in the exposition: Nathan and Rukmani. The two are married and trying to conceive.

Rukmani falls pregnant, and the baby is a girl. Rukmani is very sad, as they were both hoping for a boy. However, the couple name the baby Irawaddy. Eevn though she is a girl, she is loved by her parents. She is beautiful and energetic. However, after six years, Rukmani appears to be unable to conceive another baby.

She worries about this until she meets a doctor named Kenny, who is a foreigner. He is able to help her with her problems, and soon Rukmani gives birth to a boy. Everyone is overjoyed, especially Nathan and Rukmani's father. She ends up having another four boys in a row.

The village also changes because of the construction of a tannery. This brings new people, and with them, new economic activities. However, it also brings a variety of problems. Rukmani resents this, and dislikes the tannery.

Answer:

Travel Lightly.

Track Flight Prices in Advance.

Use a Travel Rewards Credit Card.

Travel During the Low Season.

Buy Your Ticket 47 Days Before a Trip.

Don't Buy Tickets on a Weekend.

Explanation:

There are factors that make a plane ticket more expensive, so make sure to avoid them. For example, plane tickets are most expensive on weekends no matter what. I listed more than 4...feel free to choose any of them. :)

Hi future me! I'm writing this letter to remind you to save money on plane tickets because they are super expensive and not worth it if you can do certain things to lower the cost of them. My goal to saving money on plane tickets are simple: Spend as little money as possible while still managing to take an enjoyable flight! I want to save money on tickets because I wish to explore many different places that I have always wanted to visit at low costs... I dream to reach this goal so I can take my parents to explore many must-see areas and have fun myself! My goal is not to spend a massive amount of money on plane tickets because if I want to explore the world, I would like to have a balanced amnount of money. I would take steps to limit the cost of plane tickets so I will still have a steady amount of money to spend on other things I enjoy. Like not buying it on a weekend. Steps like that that I can take will save me a lot of money. I can do some steps to lower the cost of a ticket, not spending money but spending time and work! Some concerns I have about my goal is that spending less might make my trip less enjoyable. I also will not have as much time to spend with my future kids and husband/wife because I will be taking lots of time to apply steps to save money. I also might not have as much time to do things that I enjoy for the same reason. In order to remedy my concerns, I can spend a limited amount of time every day only dedicated to saving money on a plane ticket for an upcoming trip. Basically, I can make a schedule so I can work on saving money on tickets for a chunk of the day, while being free for the other chunk. That way, the rest of the day I am free and am available to do anything I want, whether that be spending time with family and friends or doing hobbies. I can do that everyday so I have time to do both. In order to remedy my concerns about an unpleasant flight due to spending little amounts of money, I can spend even more time, and work even harder to make sure that a trip is enjoyable regardless of low costs. Maybe I can apply more steps to make the flight more comfortable! For example, I can sign up for travel rewards. This will make sure that I will get points for flying often, so I can spend those points on a business class seat or a free flight! To future me, just remember that the extra time you spend to make your plane tickets cheaper and just as enjoyable is worth it. You will get happy times in fun areas to spend with your family and friends. This will be super beneficial, and I promise you will be extremely happy with the results. You will still have time to do whatever you want, and you won't have to spend as much money on vacations! This will guarantee you happy and luxurious times while keeping a steady money amount. If you ever feel like giving up, just read this and think about the great outcome!

From, past you.
