In that time during the war, Franklin Roosevelt was conducting the building of the bomb, but by then Truman soon came into office, finishing the making of the two bombs. The Japanese declined to step down from the war, so on August 6, 1945, Truman gave the order to Major General Charles W. Sweeny to drop the first bomb on Hiroshima. Although it left them shivering, they still declined to back out, so a few days after the first bomb was dropped, we bombed Nagasaki, soon leading to the surrender of Japan, winning World War 2.
