It's actually not possible to solve this system of equations.

In order to solve for both 'x' and 'y', you need 2 INDEPENDENT equations.  "Independent" means you can't get one of them from the other one.

But in this pair, if you take the second equation, and multiply each side by 3, you get exactly the first equation.  So problem #6 actually gives you only one equation.  If you take either of these and massage it around for a little bit, you get  Y = -1.25x + 1.5 .  For either one.  They're both actually the same equation.

Problem #6 does not define one (X, Y) point.  It defines a line, that crosses the Y-axis at 1.5 and has a slope of -1.25.  EVERY POINT on that line is a solution to the one single equation that they gave you.

Which best explains why the equation 3x + 8 = 3x - 5 has no solutions?
Bas_tet [7]
The best answer for the question is C - The equation is not true for any value of x.

The reason for this is if we subtract 3x from both sides, there are no variables left. since there are no variables left, we know since first grade that 8 does not equal to -5....with that being true, there is no value we can assign to x to make this a true statement.

The mean is basically the average.
To find the mean we need to add up all the values and divide it by the amount of games he played.
82 + 83 + 65 + 84 + 76 = 390
390/5
Mean = 78

Round 5049 correct to 1 significant figure
Step2247 [10]

5000

  • Addition (+) and subtraction (-) round by the least number of decimals.
  • Multiplication (* or ×) and division (/ or ÷) round by the least number of significant figures.
  • Logarithm (log, ln) uses the input's number of significant figures as the result's number of decimals.
  • Antilogarithm (n^x.y) uses the power's number of decimals (mantissa) as the result's number of significant figures.
  • Exponentiation (n^x) only rounds by the significant figures in the base.
  • To count trailing zeros, add a decimal point at the end (e.g. 1000.) or use scientific notation (e.g. 1.000 × 10^3 or 1.000e3).
  • Zeros have all their digits counted as significant (e.g. 0 = 1, 0.00 = 3).
  • Rounds when required, after parentheses, and on the final step.
