MaRussiya [10]

Answer:

There is no way in which the term "hispanic male" can constitute discrimination.

<u>The suspect was indeed Spanish-speaking</u>, according to the investigation done by the FBI and the data collected by the witnesses.

It is a term correctly used to distinguish a person who speaks Spanish and to place this information on a Wanted Poster is more appropriate than to say: "he speaks Spanish".

Ángel Maturino Reséndiz was effectively the <em>"Railroad Killer"</em> known for killing 15 people near the train tracks.

He was a 46-year-old Mexican man who was sentenced to death after proven guilty in these murders.

The FBI managed to make a deal with Angel's sister who decided to help them in order to imprison her brother, and that way they managed to catch him.

Which lines in the passage explain why english scholars felt a dire need to set standards for the english language?
elixir [45]
After a thorough research, there exists the same question that has the full passage.

<span>One might think that proud English writers would welcome a broader readership. However, quite the opposite happened. Though scholars agreed that English was a great language, many felt that it was in danger. According to some scholars, when poorly educated people read, wrote, and spoke, they corrupted the English language.

Today, if you do not know how to spell a word, you look it up in the dictionary. During the early eighteenth century, there were few dictionaries. Those that did exist were mainly collections of difficult words or translation dictionaries (Latin to English, for example). There was no authority on the"correct" way to use or spell words.
