Harriet Beecher Stowe was an author of a book Called Uncle Tom's Cabin. This book highlight the gruesome reality of slavery that the public at that time never been aware of.

This book became extremely popular and caused a massive increase in the amount of support for the Abolitionist movement. This wave eventually what lead to the civil war between North and Southern States.

Abraham Lincoln never really "Blame" Harriet for the war. But when he happened to meet her, he said something to her :

“So this is the little lady who made this big war.”

Many of the people who were present at that time hyperbolize this casual remark and make Abraham Lincoln seemingly blame Harriet for the war.
